Information
The Head of Youshinkan, Tadatoshi Haga, Kendo, Iaido Hanshi 8th Dan, established Youshinkan Dojo in Canada in 1998. As influential figure of the kendo world, he serves the President of the All Japan Iaido Organization and Instructor-Oriented Kendo Association with 600 members, its purpose for the development of the kendo leadership. He also has been a committee to specify the fundamental guidance of kendo, and he has contributed much to the evolution of the All Japan Kendo Federation (AJKF). The head instructor of Youshinkan, Mitsuru Asaoka, Kendo Kyoshi 8th Dan, Iaido Renshi 6th Dan, laid the firm foundation of kendo in Canada from 1970. He has raised over 200 students since he started to teach kendo in Canada, and two of them have become the best eight of the World Kendo Championship (WKC). Today, three apprentices have been the members of Team Canada from Youshinkan. Tadatoshi Haga and Mitsuru Asaoka always investigate what the genuine kendo is and teach to next generation.
